I'm not too proud to admit, my side of the closet is embarrassingly sparse compared to my boyfriend's. His is lined with stylish J.Crew button ups and more Brixton and Obey hats than there are days to wear them. Mine is a hodgepodge of clothes from sales racks and last minute purchases before going out or going to an event. Basically, it looks nothing like what you see above or below.
Those models make cool-girl-casual look so easy; it's not, at least not for me. Thankfully, there's a store in Bend where I can copy them by buying exactly what they're wearing. I have absolutely no shame about copy-dressing. Once, I bought these leather leggings online just minutes after seeing this blogger feature them in this post. I have no regrets.
Say what you want about my bad habit, but I wasn't born with an affinity for aesthetics or personal style [case in point]. This is basically still my look on the weekends -- minus the helmet, goggles and swords.
I've always said I wouldn't mind having a job where I had to wear a uniform to work every day. Unfortunately, that's not the case for me, in fact it's quite the opposite. I work in TV, I should wear clothes that are beautiful and on-trend. When I remember this, I go to Vanilla Urban Threads in Bend.
PRICE POINT: $ UP TO $$$...$
This is the spot for a boyfriend/girlfriend shopping trip. You know how guys usually just silently saunter about a foot away from you while you're shopping and it's both irritating and probably creepy-looking to bystanders? Not here. When Jake and I shop at Vanilla he is completely happy on the other side of the store and that makes me happy even if we don't walk out looking like this.
This one below…we might actually be able to pull off.
I'd say Vanilla has the largest selection of [women's] clothes out of any of the local shops in Bend. The store is also styled beautifully making it fun to just browse if you're not looking to buy. If you need to buy gifts, this is also the place. The owner, April Lawyer, stocks the store with cult favorite candles from Illume, accessories from James Michelle Jewelry and a bunch of goods from these companies:
