Recently, a friend in Boise asked me for some suggestions on where to send her boyfriend and his friends who were headed to Central Oregon for their buddy's Bachelor Party. I'm not engaged and I'm not a guy, so you might think I'm not qualified to speak on the subject of how to plan a great Bachelor Party. I even thought it would be tough for me to lay out a guy-approved itinerary, but then I realized, Bend is basically made for men.
Between being a hub of the craft beer revolution and having access to just about every manly-activity possible [dirt biking, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, golfing and more] Bend is a bachelor's paradise. This post is solely focused on helping you find a Bachelor pad like no other.
WHERE TO STAY
I'M SO FANCY guys are going to want to checkout The Oxford Hotel. It's right downtown meaning all the bars you'll want to hit-up are within walking distance. Plus, it has it's own bar/food spot, 10Below. Weekdays, this swanky [for Bend] lounge stays open later than a lot of the bars in Bend. Hey! I never promised you a bachelor party filled with all-night ragers. 10Below is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and has a late-night happy hour that's worth taking advantage of. Fun fact for ultimate ballers, The Oxford has two Tesla charging stations so go ahead a drive that baby to Bend.
RUSTIC RETREAT guys have a couple of options, both will take you into the wilderness so be prepared to drive or snowmobile in and out. Elk Lake Resort has everything from "roughing it" cabins with no water or electricity to houses with gas fireplaces and dishwashers. In the winter the Cascade Lakes Highway is closed so you have to either snowmobile to Elk Lake Resort or take their Snowcat Transportation. Another option for the bachelor who wants to take the lumberjack-route is to stay at the cabins in Camp Sherman just north of Sisters.
STYLISH BUT CHILL guys who want Instagram-worthy housing for their stay in Bend should checkout Cottage Bend. All three cottages have their own charm and they can be rented all-together for parties of up to 13. If you book the cottages, you'll be in a killer westside location, walking distance to downtown and have everything you want [wifi, kitchen, washer/dryer, access to hot tub/fire pit, bikes, heating/AC]. Pets can come too! Fair warning: you'll have to book way ahead, this place is popular.
